Wastewater Treatment Plant
The City of Wasco has a 3 million gallon per day (MGD) capacity Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). The average dry weather flow is 1.7 MGD.
The WWTP is a secondary biological treatment process. All of the biosolids that are produced at the WWTP are hauled to Lost Hills for disposal. The treated wastewater is used for farm irrigation on 700 acres of City property which is leased out to local farmers. The WWTP is operated by Certified Operators who also maintain over 38 miles of the sanitary sewer system.
