Trash Collection

Trash bin placement is Important to avoid any interruption in service.
Make sure your bin is out on the curb or in your alley by 5:00 am.

    • Monday - Black container “trash”
    • Thursday - Green container “green waste”
  • Schedule B
    • Tuesday - Black container “trash”
    • Friday - Green container “green waste”
  • Reclying Service *New
    • All Blue Recyling Carts will be pick-up on Fridays.
      • First Pick-up will begin March 17, 2023

Holidays 

If a Holiday falls on a Monday or Tuesday your trash container will be picked up on the next business day.  If a Holiday falls on a Thursday or Friday your green waste will be picked up one business day early, except the Friday after Thanksgiving on which that day we will work to empty your green container.

  • President’s Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Veterans Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Day

Reasons Why Your Trash Will Not Be Collected

Your container will not be dumped if, you forget to put your container out, if it has been flagged (due to contamination) or if it is placed too close near a parked vehicle.  

Trash Bins

The City requests that the following items not be place in the trash containers:

  • Bricks
  • Chemicals
  • Concrete
  • Construction Materials
  • Earth
  • Engine or Auto Parts
  • Gravel
  • Lumber
  • Metal
  • Mortar
  • Oils
  • Paints
  • Sand
  • Silt
  • Stones

Any waste oil, paint or regulated chemicals dumped into the trash containers will be reported to the proper authorities.

Green Bins

Only grass and leaves is allowed in the green can. If the can is contaminated with any of the following materials, it will not be dumped:

  • Animal Waste
  • Brush
  • Garbage
  • Trash
  • Tree Limbs

Violations & Fines

Please be aware that you must remove your trash receptacle from the alley area or sidewalk on those days when there is not a pickup day.  If it remains in the alley or sidewalk you could be citied and/or fined as it is in violation of the Wasco Municipal Code Section 8.12.050.

The property owner is responsible for the cleaning of the containers and will be responsible for the loss or damage due to misuse.
